This transformation function is used to extract a portion of the input field.

The parameters of this transformation function are:

• Begin Index
  The starting character index of the input field. Indexing starts at 0. If the specified begin index is greater than the length of the input text, the result is an empty string.
  If the begin index is negative, it is counted from the right end of the string.
• Lengt
  The number of characters to be transferred to the output. If the input field length is shorter than the specified length, characters are returned up to the end of the input field.
